Cute Culture

 Hi guys!

I've gone and started up another blog. :} It's called Cute Culture. It's all about a project I've started where I'll be drawing  52 illustrations in 52 weeks. One cartoon a week! But they're not just any cartoons. I'm interpreting famous works of art and well know people into my style of illustration. I first posted my original illustrations here (in my last post) and decided to leave this blog for other creative explorations.

So far, I've done my fist illustration. A cute interpretation of American Gothic. :D You can check it out with this link:

I'll be doing the next one tomorrow...so come over to cuteculture.wordpress.com and see what it'll be!

Thanks so much for visiting and reading! I hope to see you each week at Cute Culture to check out what I come up with next!

Birds, Bible verses and tattoos

I've always told myself as a teen and young twenty-something that if I still wanted a tattoo when I was 30, I'd let myself get one. I'll be 30 in seventeen days. :) And I still want one! I think I'm mature enough now to decide on something I won't regret later in life. And I know just what I want. Birds in flight.

For me these birds will symbolize trusting in God. I'm always needing reminders not to worry about life and just trust in God. My sweet husband even wrote out a bible verse that hangs on the front of our fridge. But I want a more permanent reminder :) Here is the verse that I will remember every time I see my birds:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

Here are some images I found from the internets! :) I'm getting my birds on my wrist (similar to the one with the camera) so I can see it and be reminded of God's love. <3

Songwriting

I haven't added any of these to my 365 project yet, maybe tomorrow. I was just sitting here working on a song, and thought of a few ideas for good photos. Songwriting photos. :)

For the first picture I didn't have songwriting in mind, I took it for the theme "passion" for the 365 project. But I decided to include it in my songwriting pics since I do use the Bible a lot for lyrical inspiration. I hope you like them! Bye!

Yummy lip balm, limes, and Quesadillas

Today's leftover 365 project photos. My favorite lip balm, a lime, and some cheese quesadillas I made instead of running to McDonald's. :) This is a short one. Bye!

Omelete love, vintage mushrooms and capiz shells

Here are today's leftover pictures from my 365 project. Eggs! I made omelets for breakfast this morning...they were yummy. :) Then there are my vintage mushroom canisters that my sis-in-law bought for me at an auction. And the last photo is of my capiz shell wind chimes that I bought during my first visit to Savannah, Georgia. Bye!
